Monogram led the development of a unified and engaging intranet hub, replacing their outdated HTML-based HomeNet system with a newly designed SharePoint platform. The goal was to create a central, user-friendly space that streamlined employee access to information and strengthened internal connections.

The Ask

BC Housing offers a diverse range of subsidized housing options throughout British Columbia, supporting over 121,000 households and collaborating with the provincial ministry and more than 800 housing providers. BC Housing engaged Monogram to design a new SharePoint intranet hub, replacing their outdated system with a central, user-friendly platform that streamlines employee access to information and strengthens internal connections.

The Approach

Monogram partnered with BC Housing’s Communications and Executive teams to deliver a research-driven, employee-focused process:

  • Conducted focus group meetings with every department to audit, reorganize, and update content

  • Led UX research and intranet design for the first project stage, with governance framework recommendations

  • Developed a launch strategy with surveys, key messaging, leadership briefings, and internal communications collateral

  • Designed a comprehensive employee engagement plan to support adoption and sustainability

The Results

The collaboration delivered a modern, intuitive intranet that met BC Housing’s vision for a central employee hub:

  • Achieved high staff engagement through an inclusive, collaborative process

  • Seamlessly transitioned all departments to the new platform over 18 months

  • Earned national recognition with Gold for Best Internal Communications Campaign and Bronze for Best New Product or Service at the CPRS National Excellence Awards
